Cab 360 - ALEX CAB 3

Cab 3 is probably one of Alex AUCHU favorite trick. It's easy to learn because you can learn it off a small mogul and then bring it on bigger jumps.

1. - Make sure you feel comfortable with switch riding and half cabs.

2. - This trick can be done off your toe edge or off your heel edge. Whatever you feel the most comfortable with is fine. Just keep in mind that it's easier to a have smooth rotation by spinning off your heel.

3. - Go off the jump, try to use a good pop for good style.

4. - Use your left shoulder (if your regular, right shoulder for goofy) to make your body spin in one motion.

5. - Grab your board wherever you feel comfortable, no grabs are fun to with this trick. It's a fun one cause it make the cab 3 look like a fs 3.

6. - Spin slowly, this trick is easy to overspin. While you spin look at your grab until you feel the rotation is done.

7. - When you feel your spin is getting to the 360 it's probably time for you to start seeing your landing, just let go the grab and by that time you should be close to the ground so look at your landing and prepare to land.

8. - Land smoothly and ride away switch like a champ!!!!

After doing cab 3's for a while in the park you might feel like you want to try it in powder(if you have that chance) off a cliff, a cornice or even just a regular backountry kicker. That's when it get tricky. Cab 3's might be a simple trick to you but when you start doing it off drops into pow it's not a stuck trick anymore. When you drop instead off going up(like most park jumps) the technique is different. You pop off the take off and then let yourself drop. It's a different feeling to drop then it is to go in distance, it's easier to overspin. Landing in powder switch is harder too, you need to put a bit more weight on your front leg, so your tail is not caching under the snow.
